So here are some updates.

The year started out with a BANG! Kent broke his arm on the 23rd of December. Very bad compound fracture of the humerous (the bone in the upper arm). O.K. How he managed to do this. On our new Razor in fromt of our house. He hit a peice of black ice and then turned it on its side. Very minimal damage to the Razor, but he stuck his arm out and snapped the bone trying to catch the razor and himself. So to say the least, after much pain and surgery. Kent is now starting to get the strength back in his arm. A little slow going and the bone is not healing the best. He goes back this month to see if it is healing better.

Kailee switched schools and transferred from the charter school to the elementary. This has presented a few bumps in the road, but although we really didn't want her to switch, we felt like she needed to feel like she could make some decisions. So now that we have done this, she wants to switch back. Kent and I knew she would, but I think this whole process has helped her feel empowered. I think Kai has had some issues with feeling well, the youngest. Not old enough, but not young enough. So here we are trying to get her back into the charter school. And frankly for Kent and I this will be better for the timing of taking the kids to school and picking them up.

I just got called to help assist with Girl's Camp. I am really excited to be able to go to camp with Hailey. The theme this year is the olympics. Our ward is Italy. We are learning the theme and I am a child of god in italian. Very Fun!

Kalin is now in young men's and is always so excited to go to YM activities. I love this. He is so very cute - I am hopeing to stave of the girls. He is so responsible. A hard worker and has been helping Kent a lot. He got the priesthood in September. He was so excited.

Hailey has been playing Volleyball and Basketball this year. I really have enjoyed seeing Hailey become quite the athlete. It has really given her a lot of confidence. I am greatful to her head Coach, coach Riggs - she has really helped Hailey to shine. Hailey has a concert tonight, so htat will be fun.

Alexus has been on auto piolet. She was in her little school play - Romeo and Juliet. Her and her best friend Kelly. She did such a cute job. Lexy's birthday is coming up - she can't wait. She is hoping for a rip stick (a silver one).

Kent's buisness is doing great. I am so glad. He is such a hard worker and this broken arm has slowed him down just a titch - thats it.

We are planning trip back east to do some church history. We bought "The Big Red Blob" chicken, whatever you want to call it. Our good friends "The Jones's" will be going as well. The more we talk, the bigger the trip gets. I love working on this with the kids. It has been fun. We ordered shirts and we are getting a car song list that everyone will learn. Very Fun.

The New Blog

Well, here is the family blog I have been wanting to do for some time. I hope to have a journal of our family. I have not been the best at keeping a journal and taking pictures. I go through spurts, so I hope to do better by putting a journal on the internet. I started another blog some time ago, but they started charging. Now that the kids are older I am hoping that they will post here as well.

Here are the entries from the last blog.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving!

During this time of year, we have the opportunity to reflect on so much. I am truly greatful for my family and friends, my health (family and friends included), my ability to help and serve others, my religion, and I cannot forget - my new car (haha). We have been blessed in so many ways that have enriched our lives this past year. Thank you for giving us your laughter, your tears, your shoulders, your support, your friendship, and your love!
Love,
The Kent Johnson family

Another Year November 2006

I have to admit that my intentions were so great in regards to regularly using this blog. Here we are another year later, and look, the one and only post I made was last year at this time. Very sad.
Maybe this time of year not only reminds us of the things that we are greatful for, but also how humbly we have been given a bountiful year of blessings. We have been so blessed this year. Each year that passes, Kent and I have been so very blessed. Blessed beyond anything that we could have imagined or comprehended.
Kent started his own buisness this year; that has flourished. I have been promoted and have seen the benefits in not only my job satisfaction, but pay as well. Financially, things have gone so well. Hailey is doing much better is school, and her confidence is increasing in her ability to succeed. She just doesn't know her potential yet, and I think it is her age. Wondering where she fits in - boy do I know the feeling. Hailey is so tall, and has devloped into quite the beautiful young girl (inside and out) (I hope she does not figure this out for a while. I am not looking forward to all the boys who are going to be around.) Kalin, well frankly, he is so cute. His laugh, well, brings so much joy to our family. He and Hailey finished hunters safety and went on their first (real - able to carry their own shotgun and shoot) pheasant hunt. Kalin was so excited - he shot 2 birds and Hailey shot 1. Kalin is so bright and is so good. His heart is pure. Alexus, is the spiritual giant of the family. She is a questioner. Her thoughts are so deep, and it really makes me think when she asks her profound questions about the gospel. She is bright, talented, and so beautiful. She has been so breathtakingly beautiful since the moment she was born and I am waiting for her to go through the ugly stage. I don't know that she ever will. Kailee, she has been having a difficult time getting older. It is so hard being the baby. The older she gets, the more jobs she gets and that makes her very unhappy. She is so stubborn (I view this as a great quality - but boy does it make her dad crazy). She is going to be baptised this next year. Hailey will be going into high school. And life just keeps moving forward; frankly at a speed that is a little uncomfortable for me.
We are all healthy and happy.
Family Events: Feburary 06' - we went to Disneyland with or kids. This was so fun. Since we had been 2 previous times within the last year, we knew all of the rides we wanted to go on. So we spent our time on our most favorite rides (Indiana Jones (my personal favorite), The Tower of Terror, Splash mountain, The matter horn, The Big Mickey Rollercoaster, The big Peach - se the pattern. The ones that we avoided : over all the consesus was It's a Small World - uugh!). Knowing the parks at Disneyland makes the fun time spent there so much fun, and Kailee was tall enough this time to go on all of the rides- Yeh!. April 06' : Kent quit his job at Hobart and started Utah Commercial Service, this is the best move we have ever made. July: Kent, Hailey and I went to Alaska for 2 weeks. Kent went on a fishing expedition with our brother-in-law Bobby (which he had the time of his life catching fish (Halibut and Salmon)), and I spent time with my sister and her 6 children. I wished they lived closer. We had such a great time and hope to go again soon (taking the other 3 kids with us this time). Kalin stayed at Aunt Jer's and kailee and Alexus spent the 2 weeks with Grandma Ellen, who spoiled them beyond belief. I don't think they really wanted to come home when we got back. Maybe for a day and then back to Grandma's they wished they would go. Sept. 06' Labor day weekend was such a blast. Doug and Jeri, Claeb and Chelsea, and Jake and Amy went with Kent and I on our 2nd Annual Four Wheeling Weekend. I think everyone had a great time (even Jeri and Doug who had to sleep in the Hobo Room, hahaha!). It is amazing how just a short trip can bring you so much closer together. This trip has created some very special bonds and even if I tried, I will never be able to express to you how awesome this trip meant to both kent and I. But, trust me this is one of the greatest events that Kent and I have had this entire year. (We are planning on going again next year - so watch for your invite) Nov. 06' : Kent and I are taking a trip to London with Caleb and Chelsea. Kent is so excited (as so am I , this is one of the 2 places in the world that I have always dreamed of visiting - as long as I can remember). He is going back to see his old stomping grounds, can you believe it has been almost 20 years since he went on his mission (he is so old, hahaha!). Dec. 06' : Family Christmas, all month long. I am going to try to be a little more creative this year - I am not sure what I am going to do yet, but I will think of something.

ALMOST ANOTHER YEAR!!!
Well, another year and a failed attempt at posting more regularly.
I have decided to make a list of the things that I would like to accomplish over the next 10 years - this idea came from Ali Edwards Blog (by the way she is my favorite). They say that if you put your aspirations into words it will help you accomplish them. When they are completed you cross them off your list. So I am going to be starting a list. But first I would like to give you an update on the past year.
Kent and I went to England for the First time last November with Caleb and Chelsea. It was really a lot of fun. The most boring ever was Stonehenge - Oh! my heaven those 3 hours that we spent there was the LONGEST LONGEST hours of my life. But, Claeb had a great time - the engineer in him took over and he wanted to know everything about it. After we left (This was on Thanksgiving Day) and our intention was to go to Bath. It was getting late so we decided to stop and find a place to stay. We stopped at a farm house that had a bed and breakfast - not the kind you are thinking of - it is like stopping to stay at grandma and grandpa's - mismatched sheets. Beds that look like Taco's. Caleb even walked in on Grandpa while he was going to the bathroom...HAHAHA! We naturally decided not to stay there. Further down the road, there was a cute castle. It was so cute and Kent and Caleb could not talk Chelsea and I into leaving. It was so darling, and even though it cost well - I won't even tell you. It was so worth it UNTIL, we went into the village of Norton St. Philip and the locals told us that we were staying in a fake castle that was ONLY 200 years old. The real castle was in ruins up the street built in the 15th century. Chelsea and I were still happy, but this made for a downer on our parade. In the morning we decided to stop in the village again. On our way through we stopped at the village church. (We were unable to see the village well at night and in the day - so incredibly quaint and darling.) This church was small, gothic and was built in the 16th century. On another day I will tell you about my experience in the grave yard behind the church - but the experience was unexpected and life changing. So then we went off to Bath. My favortie and as far as I was concerned was O.K. to stay there for the entire rest of the trip. This is a Roman city and so beautiful, so much so I will post pictures, I will never be able to describe like a the pictures will tell. From there a few more day trips and stays, the London Temple, Canterbury, Brighton (not my favorite) and then back to London to come home. I obviously did not get enough because 2 weeks later I booked another trip for Feburary, just for kent and I. We had fun, stayed in an old pump house in a tiny village and roamed around. Nothing specific, but wonderful. I was sick when we went with a bad cold, but made it through. One place that I couldn't stay away from was of course Bath. I loved it just as much the second time around. (I will post pictures.) So now once again, Kent and I have booked another trip, but this time with the family. I am excited to take the kids this time.
This past year had been more difficult than others. Although we have been generously blessed. Kent and I had a little Rocky time in January and hopefully the thing that set this rocky time off is completely OVER! That being said, and leaving this behind.
Kailee was baptized in April and then Kalin was ordained with the Eronic preisthood and turn 12 - moving into the Young men's program. What a ride. All of my kids are now baptized. 2 are in the YM/YW program. Hailey is now in High School. She seems to be doing we. She is playing Volleyball this year and has been taken under the wing of her coach. She went from hitting the ball behind her to scoring points all in one season. This is such a great thing for Hailey. I think it has raised her confidence level a lot. She is thinking of trying out for softball in the spring. I am not sure about her grades so far this year, they have not come out yeat, but i am hopefull. Alexus is still her charming self - the other son Kent did not have. She is such a tom boy, which for Alexus is a good thing. I think this gives her some identity.
Kent and I have been doing a lot of temple work for my dad's side of the the family and also my "adopted family" (I will tell you the story some other time). It is a lot of work and we are happy to do it. My brother Roy has gotten the bug as well. This has been a great thing for our family. I just wish that my Dad would get his act together and get back to getting his temple recommend. My brother and I want his help so much, but something is just holding him back. He has been bitter with the church recently for some reason and I am not sure why. I wish he would get the bug - he had it once - the names we are doing are the geneology names he researched in the first place.
Grandma Ellen (my mom) had knee surgery this year and she is doing great. She was hardly able to walk before and now you can't hold her back. This has been a blessing. When she is able to move around I think she gets out more. She doesn't seem so depressed. My mom has also been helping do temple work. Kalin and Hailey will be going with us to the temple to do baptisms for the dead. i am excited they both got theie temple recommends yesterday. We have over 300 names to do.
Well, we will be off to England shortly. My children are so excited and I cannot wait to show them their dad's old mission stomp grounds and some of the treasures I discovered.
I am looking forward to the new year and are truly grateful for my family, the blessing that we have recieved, and for another great year.

We Are BAck!
So we are back fron England. The kids had a great time and so did Kent and I. All of us have been having a hard time dealing with the time change. London is 7 hours ahead of us, which doesn;t sound that bad until it is 3:00 in the afternoon here and it is 10:00 at night there. It seems like bed time. So anyway, all of us have been going to bed about 8:00 and getting up between 0430 and 0630. Crazy. I couldn't get Kai to get out of bed generally by 0900.
